Aécio Neves is a Brazilian politician and economist currently serving as a member of the Chamber of Deputies representing the state of Minas Gerais. A member of the Brazilian Social Democracy Party (PSDB), he has had a long and prominent political career, having previously served as the Governor of Minas Gerais from 2003 to 2010 and as a Senator from 2011 to 2019. He also served as the President of the Chamber of Deputies in 2001–2002 and was the PSDB's presidential candidate in the 2014 general election. Neves is known for his advocacy of fiscal reforms, including his 'Management Shock' program during his tenure as governor, and remains a significant figure in Brazilian national politics.
