Born in 1963, he comes from a religious family background and initially pursued a career as a civil servant and educator, earning a degree in electrical engineering education from IKIP Negeri Semarang. After resigning from his government position to enter politics, he served as a member of the Tegal Regency Regional House of Representatives and later as the Deputy Speaker of the Central Java Regional House of Representatives. A member of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), he has been active in various Islamic organizations and is the author of works concerning literacy in Indonesia.
