Agnes Tjongarero

Agnes Basilia Tjongarero is a Namibian politician and member of SWAPO serving in the National Assembly. Born in Walvis Bay in 1946, she initially trained and worked in nursing and nursing education before building an extensive career in sports administration, including leadership roles in netball and the Namibia National Olympic Committee. Appointed to the National Assembly in 2010, she subsequently served as deputy Minister of Sport, Youth and National Service before being promoted to minister in March 2020.
