Alexander Hetjes

Alexander Hetjes is a German politician serving as the Lord Mayor of Bad Homburg vor der Höhe. A member of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), he began his political career as a city councilor in 2001 and later served as the parliamentary group leader. Hetjes was first elected as Lord Mayor in 2015 and successfully secured re-election in 2021, becoming the first incumbent in the city since 1995 to defend his office. Before entering full-time politics, he worked as an independent insurance merchant.
