Alfredo Maia

Manuel Alfredo da Rocha Maia is a Portuguese politician and journalist who serves as a member of the Assembly of the Republic, representing the Porto constituency. A member of the Portuguese Communist Party, he previously held the seat temporarily between 2022 and 2023 before assuming a permanent mandate in September 2023. Prior to his parliamentary career, Maia was a prominent journalist and served as the president of the Journalists' Union from 2000 to 2015. He has also been active in local government, serving on municipal councils in Maia and Porto.
