A prominent figure within the Kirchner political family and sister of the late former President Néstor Kirchner, she previously served two consecutive terms as Governor of Santa Cruz from 2015 to 2023 and held the position of Minister of Social Development under both Néstor Kirchner and Cristina Fernández de Kirchner.
