Ana Hernandez

Ana Hernandez is an American politician serving as a Democratic member of the Texas House of Representatives, representing District 143 since 2005. Born in Reynosa, Mexico, she immigrated to the United States as an infant and was raised in Pasadena, Texas. Hernandez earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Houston and a J.D. from the University of Texas. Before her election, she worked for several state representatives and as an attorney. Throughout her tenure, she has focused on civil jurisprudence and county affairs, and she is known for her advocacy against restrictive immigration policies and her participation in legislative walkouts to oppose gerrymandering efforts.
