Anna Maria Bernini

Anna Maria Bernini is an Italian politician and academic serving as the Minister of University and Research in the Meloni government since 2022. A member of Forza Italia, she previously served as a Senator and held the position of Minister for European Policies in the Berlusconi IV cabinet in 2011. Before her full-time political career, she was an associate professor of comparative public law at the University of Bologna and a practicing lawyer specializing in civil and administrative law. Her political career has focused on constitutional reform, federalism, and higher education policy, including recent legislative efforts to reform medical school admissions and academic research contracts.
