Anthony Slaughter

Anthony Slaughter is a Welsh politician serving as a Member of the Senedd for Caerdydd Penarth since May 2026 and as the leader of the Wales Green Party since 2018. Born in Kingston upon Hull in 1962, he spent his youth in South Africa before moving to London and eventually settling in Penarth. A former garden designer and punk musician, Slaughter has been a prominent advocate for Welsh independence, a Welsh republic, and closer ties with Europe. He has campaigned on issues including public ownership of the steel industry, taxation of the wealthy to fund the NHS, and urgent climate action.
