Aparajita Sarangi is an Indian politician and a former high-ranking civil servant who currently serves as a Member of Parliament for the Bhubaneswar constituency. Before entering politics, she had a distinguished career as an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the 1994 batch, serving in various capacities including Municipal Commissioner of Bhubaneswar and Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Rural Development. She took voluntary retirement from the civil service in 2018 to join the Bharatiya Janata Party, where she has since served as a party spokesperson and a member of parliamentary committees.
