A member of the Bharatiya Janata Party, he has held his legislative seat across multiple terms, including elections in 1999, 2004, 2014, and 2019. Throughout his career, he has served in various capacities, including as the Minister of Water Supply and Sanitation for the Government of Maharashtra and as the guardian minister for Jalna district. He also previously served as the State Vice President of the BJP in 1994.
