She served as a member of the Puerto Rico Chamber of Representatives from 2009 until 2021, and also served as the party's vice president, becoming the first woman unanimously elected to that position. Throughout her legislative career, she chaired several commissions including Women Issues & Equality and Education, Arts & Culture.
