Brian Stanley

Brian Stanley is an Irish independent politician serving as a Teachta Dála (TD) for the Laois constituency. First elected to the Dáil in 2011, he has held various parliamentary roles, including serving as the Chair of the Public Accounts Committee from 2020 to 2024. Before his national parliamentary career, he served as a member of the Portlaoise Town Council and the Laois County Council. Originally a member of Sinn Féin, he resigned from the party in October 2024 and was subsequently re-elected to the Dáil as an independent candidate in the 2024 general election.
