Im Byeong-taek is a South Korean politician currently serving as the Mayor of Siheung, Gyeonggi Province. He began his political career as an aide to National Assembly member Baek Won-woo and served as an administrative officer in the Office of the President under the Roh Moo-hyun administration. Before his election as mayor, he served two terms as a member of the Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly from 2010 to 2018. Throughout his tenure as mayor, he has been active in regional governance, including leadership roles in the National Multicultural Cities Council and the UNICEF Child-Friendly Cities Local Government Council.
