Born in 1954, he began his career as a researcher before holding various permanent secretary positions following Namibian independence. He subsequently served as Deputy Minister of Finance, Minister of Trade and Industry, Minister of Finance, and finally as Minister of Agriculture, Water and Land Reform until March 2025.
