Carin Jämtin

Carin Jämtin is a Swedish civil servant and politician currently serving as the County Governor of Västernorrland County since 2023. A member of the Swedish Social Democratic Party, she previously held several high-profile roles, including Minister for International Development Cooperation from 2003 to 2006 and Secretary-General of her party from 2011 to 2016. She also served as a Member of the Riksdag and as the Director-General of the Swedish International Development Agency. Throughout her career, Jämtin has been an active voice in international affairs, notably advocating for the recognition of a Palestinian state.
