Catherine Morin-Desailly

Catherine Morin-Desailly is a French politician serving as a Senator for Seine-Maritime since 2004. A member of the Union of Democrats and Independents, she previously chaired the Senate's Committee on Culture, Education and Communication from 2014 to 2020. Before her full-time political career, she worked as an English teacher and held various local government positions in Rouen and Bois-Guillaume. Throughout her tenure, she has been a prominent advocate for digital sovereignty and cultural policy, notably proposing initiatives to grant asylum to Edward Snowden and championing the restitution of cultural artifacts.
