Charanjit Singh Channi

Charanjit Singh Channi is an Indian politician currently serving as a Member of the Lok Sabha for the Jalandhar constituency, having been elected in 2024. He previously served as the 16th Chief Minister of Punjab from 2021 to 2022, becoming the first Dalit Sikh to hold the office. His political career began at the grassroots level as a municipal councillor in Kharar, followed by multiple terms in the Punjab Legislative Assembly. Channi holds a PhD in Political Science and has held various ministerial portfolios, including Technical Education and Training. Throughout his career, he has focused on social welfare initiatives, infrastructure development, and administrative reform.
