Christopher James Picton is an Australian politician serving as the member for Kaurna in the South Australian House of Assembly since 2014. A member of the South Australian Labor Party, he has held various ministerial portfolios, including serving as Minister for Health and Wellbeing. Following the 2026 state election, he was appointed Minister for Artificial Intelligence and Digital Economy, Defence and Space Industries, State Development, and Veterans' Affairs. Before his parliamentary career, Picton worked as a barrister, solicitor, and chief of staff to former politicians, and held a position at Deloitte Access Economics. He holds degrees in Law and Arts from Flinders University.
