Christian Piwarz

Christian Piwarz is a German politician and member of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) who currently serves as the Saxon State Minister of Finance. Born in Dresden in 1975, he studied law at the TU Dresden and worked as a lawyer before entering state politics. Piwarz has been a member of the Landtag of Saxony since 2006, previously serving as the Saxon State Minister for Education from 2017 to 2024. Throughout his career, he has held various leadership roles within the CDU parliamentary group and has been involved in several investigative committees, including those concerning the Sachsen-LB and the NSU terror network. He is also known for his involvement in sports administration as the president of the American Football Association of Saxony.
