Before her parliamentary career, she worked as a computer scientist and served as a councillor for North Lanarkshire. Adamson is a graduate of Glasgow Caledonian University and has held various committee roles, including serving as the Convener of the Constitution, Europe, External Affairs and Culture Committee.
