Claude Malhuret

Claude Malhuret is a French politician and physician who has served as a Senator for the Allier department since 2014. A former president of Médecins sans frontières and co-founder of the health website Doctissimo, he previously served as the Mayor of Vichy from 1989 to 2017 and as Secretary of State for Human Rights. Known for his staunchly liberal and pro-European political views, he currently chairs the Les Indépendants – République et territoires group in the Senate. He is recognized for his vocal opposition to political extremism and his critical stance on international figures, including recent high-profile speeches regarding global geopolitical tensions.
