A member of the Democratic Revolutionary Party, he previously held the position of President of the National Assembly from 2021 to 2023. Before entering politics, Adames worked as a medical doctor in various health centers across Panama and served as an advisor to the Ministry of Health during the administration of Martín Torrijos.
