Cynthia Borrego

Cynthia Borrego is an American politician currently serving as a member of the New Mexico House of Representatives for the 17th district, having assumed office on January 1, 2023. A native of New Mexico, she holds a Bachelor of Science in education and a Master of Public Administration from the University of New Mexico. Before her election to the state legislature, Borrego served on the Albuquerque City Council from 2017 to 2021 and worked as a professional planner for the Albuquerque City Planning Department. Additionally, she has served on the boards of the Albuquerque Metropolitan Arroyo Flood Control Authority and the Middle Rio Grande Council of Governments, and she currently operates a small business.
