Dörte Liebetruth

Dörte Liebetruth is a German politician and member of the Social Democratic Party (SPD). She has served as a member of the Landtag of Lower Saxony since 2017, representing the Verden constituency, and has held the position of General Secretary of the SPD in Lower Saxony since 2023. Before entering parliament, she worked as a research assistant in the Bundestag and the European Parliament, and held various roles within the Lower Saxony Ministry for Social Affairs, Health and Equality. She holds a doctorate in media studies and is actively involved in local government as a member of the Verden district council.
