Dan Laughlin

Dan Laughlin is an American politician serving as a member of the Pennsylvania State Senate for the 49th district since 2017. Born in Erie, Pennsylvania, he previously worked as a businessman in the homebuilding and rental industries. Within the state legislature, Laughlin is known as a centrist Republican who has occasionally broken with his party on issues such as supporting the legalization of recreational cannabis, advocating for minimum wage increases, and opposing efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election results. He currently chairs the Senate Law and Justice Committee and serves on several other committees, including Appropriations and Finance.
