Danielle Smith

Danielle Smith is a Canadian politician serving as the 19th Premier of Alberta since 2022 and leader of the United Conservative Party. Born in Calgary, she earned degrees in English and economics from the University of Calgary before working as a journalist, talk radio host, and advocate for property rights. Smith previously led the Wildrose Party and served as the Leader of the Opposition from 2012 to 2014. Her current administration focuses on provincial autonomy, notably through the Alberta Sovereignty Act and efforts to establish an independent provincial pension plan.
