David Šimek

David Šimek is a Czech politician and educator who has served as the Mayor of Svitavy since 2010. Born in 1977, he holds degrees in geography, biology, and geology from Palacký University Olomouc, as well as a degree in school management. Before entering politics, he worked as a teacher and served as the director of the Sokolovská primary school in Svitavy from 2005 to 2010. In addition to his mayoral duties, he has been a member of the Svitavy municipal council since 2006 and a member of the Pardubice Region Assembly since 2012. He also served as a member of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic from 2021 to 2024.
