David Maynier

David Maynier is a South African politician serving as the Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment and a Member of Parliament for the Democratic Alliance. He previously held roles including Western Cape Provincial Minister of Education and Provincial Minister of Finance and Economic Opportunities, as well as serving as a Member of Parliament and shadow cabinet minister. Before entering politics, he served as a submarine officer and navy diver in the South African Navy, and he holds degrees from the University of Cape Town and Harvard University.
