Монастырский, Денис Анатольевич

Denys Monastyrsky (1980–2023) was a Ukrainian lawyer and politician who served as the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine from 2021 until his death in 2023. A graduate of the Khmelnytskyi University of Management and Law, he began his career as a legal expert and academic before entering politics. He was elected as a People's Deputy of Ukraine in 2019 representing the Servant of the People party, where he chaired the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Law Enforcement. Known for his focus on judicial and law enforcement reform, he was appointed Minister of Internal Affairs in July 2021. Monastyrsky died in a helicopter crash in Brovary on January 18, 2023.
