Prior to his legislative service, he served in the Oklahoma National Guard for 25 years and was a member of the Catoosa City Council from 2015 to 2018. He secured his seat in the state legislature after winning the Republican primary election in 2024, succeeding term-limited incumbent Terry O'Donnell.
