Djamari Chaniago is an Indonesian politician and retired military officer currently serving as the Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs, a position he assumed in September 2025. A graduate of the Indonesian Armed Forces Academy (AKABRI) in 1971, he had a distinguished military career, notably serving as the Commander of the Army Strategic Reserve Command (Kostrad) and Chief of General Staff of the Indonesian National Armed Forces. Throughout his service, he held various command positions in Aceh and East Timor. In 2025, he was awarded the honorary rank of General of the Indonesian National Armed Forces. Beyond his military and ministerial roles, he has served as a member of the People's Consultative Assembly and as the President Commissioner of PT Semen Padang.
