Đuro Macut is a Serbian endocrinologist, academic, and politician serving as the prime minister of Serbia since April 2025. Although officially independent, he co-founded the Movement for the People and the State in March 2025. Prior to entering high-level politics, he built a distinguished academic career as a professor of internal medicine and endocrinology at the University of Belgrade and served as director of the Clinic for Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolic Diseases at the University Clinical Centre of Serbia. As prime minister, Macut has focused on resolving education crises, negotiating EU accession steps, and steering domestic economic and infrastructure policies.
