Elcione Barbalho

Elcione Barbalho is a Brazilian politician and pedagogue currently serving as a Federal Deputy for the state of Pará. A long-standing member of the Brazilian Democratic Movement (MDB), she has held her seat in the Chamber of Deputies across multiple legislative terms since her first election in 1994. Throughout her career, she has focused on social security, human rights, and environmental policy, notably serving as the president of the Committee on Environment and Sustainable Development. Beyond her legislative work, she previously served as the First Lady of Pará during the gubernatorial terms of her former husband, Jader Barbalho, and has held various administrative roles in education and social services.
