Elwyn Vaughan is a Welsh politician serving as the Member of the Senedd for the Gwynedd Maldwyn constituency since May 2026. Before his election to the Senedd, he served as a county councillor on Powys County Council from 2017 to 2026, where he chaired the Democratic Services Committee and advocated for rural community interests, including the retention of the Wales Air Ambulance base in Welshpool. Previously, he founded the enterprise agency Cymad Cyf in 1995, though his tenure ended following a 2007 conviction for false accounting. A member of Plaid Cymru, Vaughan has been a vocal opponent of the proposed Glyndŵr National Park and a proponent of devolving Crown Estate management to the Welsh Government.
