Emelia Arthur

Emelia Arthur is a Ghanaian politician, development specialist, and the current Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture. Elected as the Member of Parliament for the Shama constituency in 2024, she has previously served as the District Chief Executive for Shama and as a Deputy Western Regional Minister. A Yale World Fellow, Arthur focuses on sustainable natural resource governance, gender inclusion, and youth empowerment. As Minister, she has prioritized the 'Blue Economy Initiative,' aiming to reform the fisheries sector, address EU regulatory concerns, and promote aquaculture as a sustainable alternative to declining marine stocks.
