
Emilia Nuyado

Emilia Nuyado Ancapichún is a Chilean politician of Mapuche-Huilliche descent who has served as a member of the Chamber of Deputies representing District 25 since 2018. She made history as one of the first two Mapuche women elected to the Chilean Congress. Before her national legislative career, she served as a councillor for the commune of San Pablo for four consecutive terms between 2000 and 2016 and held national councillor positions within the National Corporation for Indigenous Development. Her political work focuses on indigenous rights and social advocacy.
