Before entering national politics, he served in the French Navy and the National Gendarmerie. He began his political career in 2013 with the National Front, later becoming a municipal councillor in Martigues in 2014 and a regional councillor for Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur in 2015. Fouquart is a member of the National Rally party.
