Emmanuel Maurel is a French politician currently serving as a member of the National Assembly for the 3rd constituency of Val-d'Oise, elected in 2024 under the New Popular Front banner. A former member of the Socialist Party, he previously served as a Member of the European Parliament from 2014 to 2024 and held various regional roles in Île-de-France, including vice-president of the regional council. A graduate of Sciences Po and the Sorbonne, Maurel is known for his left-wing political stance, having founded the Republican and Socialist Left party after leaving the Socialist Party in 2018.
