Eric Nelson

Eric Nelson is an American politician serving as a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, representing the 57th House district in Westmoreland County. Before entering politics, he served in the United States Marine Corps and worked as a faculty member at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, while also managing a family beef farm. First elected in a 2016 special election, Nelson has focused on legislative issues such as labor, insurance, and consumer affairs. He notably introduced legislation during the COVID-19 pandemic to ensure continued pay for first responders who missed work due to the virus. Politically, he is a member of the Republican Party, having switched his affiliation from Independent in 2015.
