Esperança da Costa

Esperança da Costa is an Angolan politician, biologist, and academic who has served as the Vice-President of Angola since September 2022. Before entering high-level politics, she had a distinguished career in academia, specializing in plant biology and serving as a professor and director at the Agostinho Neto University. She also held significant administrative roles, including National Director of Higher Education Expansion. A member of the MPLA, she previously served as Secretary of State for Fisheries before her election as Vice-President.
