A member of the Socialist Party, she has held various administrative roles, including serving as the civil governor of the Setúbal District and vice-president of the Lisbon and Tagus Valley Regional Coordination and Development Commission. Within the Assembly, she has served as the president of the administrative council and has been a member of the committee on Public Administration, Administrative Modernization, Decentralization and Local Power.
