Fitsum Assefa
Profile
Fitsum Assefa Adela is an Ethiopian politician and academic who has served as the Minister of Planning and Development for the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia since October 2018. Before entering government, she spent over a decade as a lecturer at the University of Hawassa. She holds an undergraduate degree in Accounting and a Master of Arts in Development Studies from Addis Ababa University, as well as a PhD in Agricultural Economics from the University of Giessen in Germany. In addition to her ministerial duties, she has served on the board of directors for the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia.
