Frank Mentrup is a German politician who has served as the Mayor of Karlsruhe since 2013. A member of the Social Democratic Party (SPD), he previously served as a member of the Landtag of Baden-Württemberg from 2006 to 2013, where he also held the position of Parliamentary State Secretary in the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport. Before entering full-time politics, Mentrup worked as a physician specializing in child and adolescent psychiatry. He is actively involved in municipal governance and currently serves as the President of the Association of Cities and Towns of Baden-Württemberg.
