Frank Schwabe

Frank Schwabe is a German politician and a member of the Bundestag representing the Recklinghausen I district since 2005. A member of the Social Democratic Party (SPD) and its left-wing Parliamentary Left faction, he has held various significant roles, including serving as the Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection since 2025. Previously, he served as the Commissioner for Global Freedom of Religion and was an active member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, where he chaired the Socialists, Democrats and Greens Group. His political work has focused heavily on human rights, humanitarian aid, and international climate policy.
