Gerald Allen is an American politician serving as a member of the Alabama Senate. Born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, in 1950, he began his legislative career in the Alabama House of Representatives in 1994 before being elected to the state Senate in 2010. Throughout his tenure, Allen has been a proponent of conservative legislation, including efforts to ban foreign law in state courts and the sponsorship of the Alabama Memorial Preservation Act to protect historical monuments. He is the father of Alabama Secretary of State Wes Allen, and the two made history as the first father-son duo to serve simultaneously in the Alabama legislature.
