Giannis Plakiotakis

Giannis Plakiotakis is a Greek politician who has served as a Member of the Hellenic Parliament for Lasithi since 2004. A member of the New Democracy party since 1987, he previously served as a municipal advisor for Sitia and held the position of Deputy Minister for National Defence in 2007. In 2015, he briefly served as the interim President of New Democracy following the resignation of Vangelis Meimarakis. Plakiotakis holds degrees in biochemical engineering and business administration from universities in the United Kingdom.
