Gilbert Favreau

Gilbert Favreau is a French politician and lawyer who has served as a Senator for the Deux-Sèvres department since September 2020. Before his election to the Senate, he held a long career in local government, notably serving as the President of the Departmental Council of Deux-Sèvres from 2015 to 2020 and as a municipal councillor in Parthenay. A former lawyer specializing in rural law, he was admitted to the bar in 1973 and served as the bâtonnier of the Bressuire bar association. He is a recipient of the Legion of Honour.
