Gunilla Svantorp

Gunilla Svantorp is a Swedish politician and civil servant who has served as the Governor of Östergötland County since March 2025. Previously, she was a long-serving member of the Riksdag, representing Värmland County from 2010 to 2025, where she notably chaired the Education Committee. Before her parliamentary career, she worked as a schoolteacher and served in the Värmland Regional Council. In 2019, she was awarded the Legion of Honour by the French government for her contributions to public service.
