Gustavo Adrián Melella is an Argentine politician serving as the Governor of Tierra del Fuego, Antarctica and Southern Atlantic Islands since 2019. Previously, he served as the Mayor of Río Grande from 2011 to 2019. A former philosophy lecturer and rector at a Salesian school, Melella began his political career in municipal government roles focused on local development and production. He is notable for being the first openly gay governor of an Argentine province and was re-elected to a second term in 2023.
